FACADE
The gothic facade of Copernicus Hotel attracts the eye of every passerby on the Kanonicza street. The hotel, extended on the porthole of the medieval street, stands out with its old, red brick wall during the day, and at night with an exceptional illumination, that emphasizes the broad architectural stucco wall.
On one end of the street is a view of an elevated castle, on the other is a gothic row of the houses on Magdalena Square and continuing on is a lane of lovely noble houses extending to the Main Square. Across from the hotel, in what used to be Bishop Erazamus’ palace (today part ot the National Museum), there once lived a young priest, later known as John Paul II.
